It was time to install a more robust clutch as well as freeing up the revs on the engine with a lighter flywheel. This combo should work very well on the track while still being fairly easy to use on the street.

NASA Nationals What a ride. After having two trailers fail on me, I finally made it to Miller Motorsports in Utah. The first two days were very good as my times were consistently 5 seconds ahead of 2nd place. At the end of the second day (Friday) my 3rd gear sycro had failed and I was only able to use 4th and 5th gear on the track. Then the officials started scutinizing the modifications on the car Saturday morning and thought I should be placed in the faster "TTS" class. I decided not to argue and pushed the car as hard as I could knowing I could probably place well in that class as well. I had to left foot brake on 4 corners in forth gear to keep the boost up so I had reasonable power coming out of the turns. Each sesson got faster and faster and the last sesson I posted my quickest time of 2:05.8 on a new set of Hankook C91's. This gave me a 4th place finish overall in the TTS class. Not bad for a TTA car with 60 less hp then the competition, no downforce and no 3rd gear. All in all, I was an eventful weekend but certainly not what I expected. 1st in points-NASA and SCCA Rocky Mountain Region 2009 shaped up to be a good year. The competition could have been better, but the Evo X continued to dominate with its speed, sure footed handling and durability. |
