Dyno Results
After getting all the engine mods installed (intake, exhaust, test pipe and upper hard pipes), Chris from AMS reflashed the ECU for a race tune with race gas. Below are the results on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. This is pretty good considering the light mods to the engine. We should be able to squeeze a little more out of it with some additional tuning.

The Objective
To compete in the 2009 NASA and SCCA time trial events within the Rocky Mountain region. My goal is to win the regional race and advance to Nationals within the TTA class. I am seeking sponsorship and assistance for the season with key companies, shops and individuals whose core competencies are with Mitsubishi Evolutions.

AMS Cold Air Intake
Installed the AMS Cold Air Intake today. What different that makes and the sound is very pleasing. The engine pulls harder and breaths much better at the top end. The AMS tune will tie the exhaust and intake modifications together for the best results.

Weight Savings
I've been able to get about 350 lbs out of the car so far. A majority of it being from the trunk area and the stock seats. This weight savings is felt in the handling of the car and the load on the suspension. I wouldn't recommend this for a street car but a race car is all about minimizing weight transfer and finding ways to lose weight is usually cheaper than paying for more horsepower. |
